Blood Stubbed Toe

Hi, Last night I really stubbed my toe. By the time I made it home my flip flop was soaked in blood. I got it all cleaned up but I have a flap of skin that is almost 1/2 long. I left it on there for now. It is throbbing a little now and swollen.

?- how often should I clean it and change the dressing?
?- what kind of dressing and method is best?
?- How long before I should run on it?
?- should I cut the flap off?

It's not broken, (been through that 2x and I know what that feels like) Also, I didn't get the toe nail (yay)
Thanks so much!
Stacey

And also i would recommend changing it 2x a day, and wait until it is fully healed until you run on it or you will just open the wound back up.  And i would cut the flap off depending if the wound is deep.  If it is deep than i would advise against it but if it is just a shallow wound than you should cut it off.

Im not an expert in the medical field but i would recommend using some sort of gauze wrap after using hydrogen peroxide or rubbing alcohol (depending on pain tolerance).  Keep it elevate above chest level when possible, and when you walk try to keep the toe elevated if possible.  Well best of luck to yah
Sincerely Mike.
