Heart rate and jogging exercise

Hello guys,

I just started my jogging exercise last week. I jog for 30 mins twice last week and my heart rate reached 187 bpm. I would to know your opinions regarding my heart rate during exercise. Is that a high heart rate? Is it bad that its close to my maximum heart rate based on 220-age formula (Im 23 years old)? Everyone's opinions are very much welcome. Thanks.

Hello ma'am,

Yes your vitals are absolutely normal. Take care and keep your heart rate around 150-160 while doing exercise.

Thanks for the response. My resting heart rate averages around 80bpm. For blood pressure, the highest i got while resting is 130/80 but mostly 120/70. Are those vitals considered stable? Thanks.

Hello!

There is nothing to worry if your vitals are always stable.
Resting pulse, blood pressure should be normal and with start of exercise, jogging or any cardio it will increase but with sustained exercise it will decrease to levels of around 150.

Try to keep you heart rate to around 150-160 and do not exert yourself. Continue for few weeks and if it does not stabilize then check the instruments if they are calibrated or not and also follow up with a physician.

Take care!
