Knee Pain

I am a 6'3" 245lb 23 year old male, and have been experiencing knee pain for the past month or so. This happened when I was performing Verticle Jumps at a track practice. When I landed, i felt a sharp pain in the middle of my left knee. I did not feel any popping, just a very sharp pain right behidn the patella. I didn't think anything of it that day, and it never bruised or swelled. I laid off the knee for the remainder of the week, but when i started lifting the next week, anything that put stress on the knee hurt. Squats, Legpress, Deadlifts, they all hurt right at the middle of the knee behind the patella. It also hurts when I try to jog and occasionally go down stairs. I saw an athletic trainer and he believes that it may be a bruised femure. I was wondering if anyone else had an opinion on this, and if they agree with the bruised femure, how long do you think this will last/are there any treatments I can do to speed the recovery process/can i do any form of cardio?

Thanks

Nice post….Understanding what is causing your knee pain may be a simple task, or more complicated. I think you should check out. I am not sure if you feel something wrong you take a test and consult any doctor. .best wishes….

Sounds more like ligament damage to me. I would go see a sports/physical therapist and get it checked out, because if you continue training with torn ligaments you could potentially worsen the problem. I ripped most of mine during a martial arts fight 8 years ago, and had to give the sport up as my knee could no longer cope with the twisting actions and bearing all my weight on one leg (kind of essential for a kick, lol). I still feel a warning pain if I do certain activities, nearly a decade later, so I steer clear of those. I couldn't afford more than the initial consultation fee, so I never got advice on how to build it all back up again, but I wish I'd have known. Please go see someone that can help you!
