Gym, don't you vary your exercise routine?  Isn't there a Gold's nearby you could get a couple days membership for?  I use Gold's, not that I'm in good gym condition right now, because it's cheap, but it does tend to have everything, even physical therapy stuff.

Pax, I'm in Tamarac FL. and the LA fitness gym hasn't any kettle bells and it's rough using a dumb bell as a kettle bell. The flight from N.J. to Lauderdale is about 2 1/2 hr. It took us almost 6 hours.

Dieting is a term we use in this society to indicate cutting calories for the purpose of losing weight.  The poster says she's dieting.  A diet is what you regularly eat, yes, but the person didn't refer to her regular diet, she said she was dieting.  Gym, really?

What do you mean "don't diet"? Whatever your eating habits are, good or bad is your diet!

Oh, and remember, if you've sedentary for awhile, just eating healthfully and increasing your energy output will show faster results than if you were already doing these things.

Just go to You Tube and look up ab exercises.  There will be a million of them.  The above post is referring to interval training, and that's going to be hard to do if you can't get away from your kids for awhile, and isn't going to be easy to do if you've never done it.  Again, none of us know what your physical condition is right now, so we can't know how much you can handle.  If you're experienced in exercise and in good health, you can do anything you want most likely.  If not, you need to start in slowly and work your way up.  Yoga and pilates also work hard on the abs, but in a gentle way, and you can buy videos that allow you to work along with the TV if you can't get out to classes.  But classes do help in showing you if you're doing it wrong.  A million ways to exercise.  And don't diet -- just eat a healthy diet that you intend to stick with for good.  Dieting doesn't last.  Good luck.

thanks for your reply,
I have started dieting and I will hit my first week as of tomorrow I have lost 1.9 kilos so far but will do an exact weigh in this morning! As a mum with 2 very young children it's hard for me to get out of the house and go to the gym! Is there any exercises u could think of for me to do at home during the day? Cheers

It starts with diet.  Belly fat usually comes from eating too many simple carbs, such as sugar and white flour.  That's why when it's really big it's called a beer belly, because beer is a lot of simple carbs.  As for exercise, there are a million good ab exercises you can learn at your local gym.  Cardio also helps with this.  Don't expect a six-pack, most will never get there, but you can tone it but it will take work.  Only you can determine if that work is worth it or not.
