when to work out legs?

hey just wondering when is the best time to work out the legs (squats and lunges)? I try to lift one day and run the next.. I have been doing them on my weight days but then sometimes my legs are too sore to run on my cardio days.

Should i be doing squats lunges etc before or after my run instead?

You need to stretch/warm up/cool down -before and after- workout/running/exercising.
I would do them on my Run days after Running.
