high oxygen level in blood

I am 48 yrs old and I just recently found out I have high oxygen levels, what can happen if I dont see a doctor about it? What can be done about it? Is there anything I can do or change it myself? Like changing my diet or how I cook? I also have high cholesterol and an inactive thyroid and I take medicine for that. I have gained 50lbs since I have had this problem, I have COPD so it is hard for me to exercise because of my breathing, what can I do to loss the weight or change my oxygen levels?

Hi, amongst the problems you mentioned, the most important ones are obesity and COPD. Obesity aggravates the COPD further. Blood oxygen levels are not a botheration at this time but you should concentrate on losing some weight. Weight reduction, if you are overweight or obese, is the optimal health strategy for patients who suffer from COPD. This can be done through a combination of diet, an increase in physical activity and sometimes medication. Weight reduction can help reduce dyspnea, increase exercise tolerance and improve your quality of life. Incorporating pulmonary rehabilitation in to your COPD treatment plan may help you begin an exercise program if you are obese. I hope this helps.
