how to grow taller??

hi i was wondering if anyone has actually tried any of those growth pills(like satoGrowth) that are on the market and if they truely worked for you at all..?  im 16 and  im curious about adding a few inches while i have a chance since im still pretty young.  i know alot of it has to do with genetics  but since im a girl and i heard ladies stop growing completely around 17-19, im kind of getting worried.
My dad's side of the fam. are like freakishly tall (literally towering over me) While my mom's are really short.  =/  im 5'3 right now(havent grew in awhile) and pretty much all the girls my age are like 5'7 and up seems like which is seriously intimidating...any help??

..or what about vitamins?  do you know which ones will stimulate some growth?

teen in distress here.. thanks for any help you do give me  =]

Hi,

Height is a genetic trait. Although eating a well balanced meal and some exercises like swimming can help you gain may be a few inches. Please do not opt for any hormonal treatment as they have a lot of side effects, what matters the most is a healthy body.

Hi,

Height is determined in a big way by genetics and the interplay of hormones as well as the diet one has. Therefore, while a good balanced diet is most essential, over supply of one nutrient may not be the best way to increase your height.

On the other hand, physical exercise may stimulate your body to work extra hard and therefore 'compensate' for any decrease in the rate of growth. Cycling, swimming and other aerobic exercises are usually recommended.

You may find more information at: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_height

Let me know if you need more help.

Best regards

First and foremost women can continue to grow up until the age of 24 not 17-19. And the average woman is only around 5'4" to 5'5" tall. Chances are that you only think that everyone around you is 5'7" and taller, but I doubt that is true. I'm 26 years old and am only 5'2" tall, my family is all taller than me (mother included at 5'4" tall) and I will not grow anymore. It took a LONG time for me to become okay with that and even if you never get any taller think of it this way. You truly are the perfect height at 5'3" you:

1. Have a great opening line with a new cute guy...."hey can you reach that for me?"
2. Fit perfectly under that guys arm...he doesn't have to reach up to wrap his arms around you!
3. Are harder to catch, hey it's easier to duck and weave at 5'3" tall than it is at 5'7" tall.

And many many more! :D I don't know if any of those "growth" pills actually work and I think the only person who could answer that is your doctor, but chances are that they don't work...

Hunny, don't worry about how tall you are.  If you're meant to grow some more, you will. If not, then you'll learn how to adjust to it. Any pills you take are going to have risks.  If you still feel self consious about it, look at all the famous actresses who are short.  Sarah Jessica Parker, Eve Longoria, they're both probably shorter than you!  And it doesn't stop them!  I think I grew a few more inches around your age though, so don't stress too much.
