neck pain from exercise

I'm curious... This usually only happens when the weather is cold. I enjoy walks and hiking, but when it's cold or I'm pushing the hike, I get pains on either side of my neck just below my ears, almost where the glands are.  It's kind of a burning feeling.  I've gotten it for many years, and it goes away when I slow it down, or keep my neck covered and breath into my coat to keep the cold out.  Has anyone else ever had anything similar?  Just curious as to what the heck it is.  It reminds me of trying to blow up balloons when I was younger.

i think its probably due to effect of temperature on ur fluid in the inner ear which helps in keeping u stable ....but under execissive stress it can result in burning feeling under ears
