Hi

Firstly you should understand that everyone doesn't sweat the same amount or under the same circumstances. Also you should not assume that sweating is an accurate measure of a good workout or amount of calories burnt.

Your body is like an engine that produces heat. It has several methods to dissipate this heat, like radiation, conduction, convection and evaporation.

Everyone has a different sweating pattern. Gender, age, fitness level and environment contribute to how much you sweat. Women seem to sweat less and start to sweat at higher temperatures than men. People tend to sweat less as they grow old. Some people sweat just sitting at a place while others don't even until they are midway through an aerobics schedule. Hence, it all depends on an individual’s constitution.

A hot and humid weather causes increased sweating; rigorous exercises cause much more sweating than light ones. If you exercise in an air-conditioned room you will not sweat as much because the cold air evaporates your sweat faster.

As long as you are keeping yourself hydrated, you should be just fine.Sometimes thyroid related conditions may lead to decreased sweating, in which case a thyroid profile may be helpful.

Itching on exercise may be due to a condition called Exercise urticaria characterized by itching, or hives on the legs, arms, chest or neck during or after exercise. You may consult your doctor for some antihistamines for relief.

Do write in if you need any other information.

I have always had the same problem -  I sweat on my feet and palms and my hairline will get damp- I always have damp sweatiness under my breasts but never on my forehead, under arms, or down my back... but I have always been like this -  think it is a gentic make up thing....
