rib trouble

hi, for the past while now i've been getting this weird sensation in my ribs.It happens mostly if I cough or laugh really hard but sometimes it appears triggered by nothing. I used to workin a bar and did a lot of lifting and stuff. Its really weird, it feels as though they ribs are going in and out of place, its uncomfortable more than painful but can hurt. sometimes it feels like a clicking feeling. Some times also wen i feel my rib cage the righthand side(my right)seems to be flater than the left(THE LEFT APPEARING MORE NORMAL and curved), and it is the right side that gets the discomfort. I did go to the doctor and was told its just from the muscles contracting or whatever but i dont think this at all and am quite worried. im only 21 f and it is making work etc quite hard to do.

The left side of my ribcage is higher than my right.  It's been like that since I was in a car accident several years ago.  Any ideas Suri123?

Hi sligopinkie, how are you doing? Do you still continue to have the pain? I do feel you may be having muscular strain due to sternous work and lifting things suddently. Do you have chronic cough? Do massage therapy for few days and apply a local pain gel followed by hot fomentation. Early morning stretches and hot bath wil help you. If it stll pains, take pain tablet with food for couple of days. If you do not feel relieved of pain and discomfort, consult a orthopedic surgeon for examination. Share your thougths and Take care.
