working hard, not losing

I started to working out about 6 weeks ago. I am 6' tall, my start weight was around 200 and I am now around 193-194. Some days I feel slim and some days I feel extremely chubby. For the past 6 weeks I have been consistantly working out 5-6 days a week. I do about 30 minutes of cardio and circuit train in the weight room. I started out using P90x as a boot camp but am doing my own thing now. I live in FL so lately I have been swimming for 20-30 minutes about 2-3 times a week for the cardio, other times I run around 2-3 miles, or eliptical for 30 minutes, or run 1 mile at 85%. Every other week I switch from heavy weight training with smaller sets (8 reps) to lighter weights (12-24 reps).

As far as a diet, everyday I eat

8am Breakfast - A small bowl of special K
10am snack - a piece of fresh fruit (if needed)
12:30 Lunch- a turkey sandwich with 1 slice of cheese, lettuce on whole weat bread, handful of baked chips
3pm snack- a few hand fulls of trail mix
5pm snack- turkey sandwich
8:30 snack- post workout protien drink or pasta or something low fat.

I have been following this routine very closely over the past 6 weeks. I have noticed a difference in the way that I feel and my clothes fit better. I do go out on the weekends and this may be my setback. I am 27 years old. Am I being too impatient?

Hello!

Your target weight should be anywhere between 180-185 pounds for your 6ft height. Medically as a doctor for me if your BMI is below 25 i.e weight around 185 pounds and all your vitals are normal there is no need to press the panic button.

Take care!

Thank you for your responses. I bet that the most frustrating complaint derives from being impatient. My diet is not sufficient? What is wrong with it?

Hello!

Exercise and physical activity is a long term continuous regular affair.

Plan a proper diet chart as whatever you are eating is not sufficient. Consult a dietician and only one thing I agree with you is to avoid high calorie food as in junk food, fast food, desserts and fried food.

Regular cardio in any form for 30-45 minutes will give you the desired results in 3- 6 months of a BMI less than 25. With 193 pounds and 6 ft height your BMI is only 26.2 presently. In the future balance you input and output and keep your BMI below 25.

Take care!
