Beginning a diet and Exercise program.

I have not been actively doing any exercise for a bout 6 years. What is the easiest way to get back into an exercise and dieting regiment, Without putting too much stress on the heart and body?

thank you for the reply I will try it. I have 3 kids and I try to do things with them now. Maybe I will take up a sport I used to enjoy that.

Normal first suggestion is to check with your doc. Assuming you're ok and want to make exercise a part of your life again, I suggest you consider what you have enjoyed or have always wanted to try. What we are passionate about is easier to continue than "I do it for my health". Is there a friend who would start with you? Lifting weights is fantastic - more muscle burns more calories and you can see results quite fast. You can join a gym or use your suroundings. To start - soup can exercises - once they are too easy. look for something else heavier.EVERY OTHER DAY
A can in each hand - lift your arms slowly upward - different angles. Remember the angles - do 10 if you can work to 10 ,. rest, 10 more. When you walk to the  mailbox (wherever) take long slow strides and bend one knee to the ground (as close as you can get).My adult daughter found she really liked hula hoop = she's now good at it and quite fit. Keep at it! Drink water, and kombucha (online are recipes) to help Good luck
