Best Fitness Regime?

Hi everyone here,

I'm new so please don't jump down my throat and pleade bare with me.

Okay, so, I've finally decided to lose weight and tone up.

Here's my basics

I'm 15, male
6 foot 2
around 16 stone
Very broad shoulders and a longer torso

I've done a lot of research and am aware of the fact that too much muscle building is bad for a teenager.

So all I'm looking for is a rough guide on what I should be doing?

Should I focus on a more controlled diet folllowed by little changes such as walking to places instead of getting a bus?

Or should I focus more on cardio exercises?

Thanks in advance,

James

Hello!

I would suggest you to indulge in different kinds of physical sports activities which is very good for your age to lose weight.

Eat healthy, no compromise on calories, avoid fried food, junk food and fast foods completely.

1 hr of running, swimming, basketball or football is very good for you!

Take care!

Hi James,

The best answer that I can give is, do a little of everything you just said. You should start looking at what you eat. A food diary can help with that a lot. Eating healthier now will help you a lot as you get older. Little changes like walking instead of taking the bus are always helpful & cardio is truly awesome. Too much muscle building may be bad, but that doesn't mean you want to neglect strength training either. If you do weights, focus on doing more reps with lighter weights instead of pushing the limit with more weight. Here's a website that is targeted towards health & fitness for teens:

Sorry if I wasn't too helpful. Remember to have fun & change your routine up.
