I am a 30 year old man. 6ft7in around 300lbs. My job can be extremely sedentary.
Many times over recent months, I have tried and failed to start an exercise routine. I have been starting out doing pushups and situps.
Every single time I have started back up, I injure myself within the first week or so. After this, I am out of commission for 2 - 4 weeks. This pattern has been on-going for several months.
My looks are not my concern. My CONDITION is my concern. I am currently in extremely poor condition.
I have a partially herniated lumbar disc, so aerobic exercise is difficult. I have access to equipment that you would find in a small gym.
I would prefer to begin my conditioning on my own and enter the gym environment after I have built up my endurance / reconditioned my muscles some. But if the gym is what i need, then so be it.
The last time I was on a regular exercise routine was in my mid-20's. At that time, it was much easier and I was not injuring myself while working out. I seriously want to get back in good condition and would really appreciate any advice on starting an exercise routine.
