Always a chance but no guarantees!
They're also about my parents height. Is there a chance?
A chance yes! how about your grandparents uncles and aunts.
So, even though my parents are on that height as you mentioned, is there a chance that I can grow taller?
Your 16 years old so you can still grow! try the following, no guarantee that it will work!! as Caryopteris said it's mostly genetic!
Height is largely a part of your genetic makeup. Usually you land somewhere between the height of your parents, but my family is this:
Dad: 5'8"
Mom 5'4"
First-born son: 5'7"
First daughter: 5'4"
Twin daughters: 5'6"
Another family:
Father: 5'11"
Mother: 5'2"
First son: below average until freshman year HS. He went home from freshman year at 5'6" and returned for sophomore year at 6'1". He eventually was 6'3"
First sister: Always tall, 5'10"
Youngest sister: 5'2.
Boys often continue to grow until they are around 20. It's unpredictable. Eat lean meat, chicken, eggs, fish (hormone-free if possible). Avoid dairy if it upsets your digestion (gas, diarrhea). If you still have those symptoms after stopping dairy, get checked for Celiac disease, which can stunt growth by not allowing nutrient absorption). Eat your vegetables. Exercise, including weight training to keep your testosterone up. Pay attention to posture. Sitting tends to make people hunch over, and it looks terrible and doesn't optimize height.
