Hi buds_mom, how are you keeping? Hope you are having a great time and busy with your wedding? How about your weight reduction program? Are you still going on shedding your weight or have achieved your goal by now? It is better to follow  fitness practice/gym regularly to avoid the rebound weight gain and also to keep up the muscle tone. Try to take some time even if you are bit busy and keep physically active. It's time for more junk food and high fat content foods, try to avoid and be on more of liquids. Hope you will update on your progress and share your thoughts. Take care, good luck.

Hi buds_mom, how are you doing? Hope you might have already on the schedule to reduce your weight and can you say how many pounds of weight you have shred till now? It is always better to plan reducing weight on long term basis and not on a short term basis. You need to workout with a gym instructer and a dietician regarding the daily intake of calories and how well you can burn it out. Do increase your physical activities rather than cutting down on your diet. Frequent small vegetarian snack and meal would be far better than a bulky non-vegetarian meal. Drink enough water to avoid dehydration. Do update on your progress and share your thoughts. Take care.

I just read that short intense sets of cardio burns more calories than long sessions.  For example sprint for 2 minutes as hard as you can.  Then rest  for 3 minutes or so and repeat 4 or 5 times.
In addition muscle burns more than fat.  So work on building your muscles up and even your resting metabolism will be faster.

Not to be disrespectful because that is not my intention, but one pound of fat is exquivalent to 3500 calories exactly. 1-2 pounds is a realistic goal but the bigger we are and the more unhealthy our eating habits, the more we are sometimes able to lose because their is more to change. Start by eating more fruits and vegetables because they fill you up but contain less calories. Drink lots of water including 8 oz before each meal (this prevents us from eating as much). Try eating at least 5 meals a day but SMALL meals because this keeps our metabolizm boosted all day. Especially eat first thing in the morning. Do not starve yourself!

Exercise is essetial for your weight loss goal in the amount of time you have. The more the better but don't push yourself to injury. If you have illnesses then consult your doctor first before starting an exercise routine. I am not sure your current activity level but we want to exercise cardiovascular fitness first for loosing body fat and muscle strengthening for toning the muscles underneath. The longer you do cardio the more % of fat you are burning so 30min is better than 20min and 1hr is much better than 45min. Whatever time you have just do your best that you can and I am sure you will be happy with the outcome.

I sure hope you feel great as you proceed on your weight loss journey and feel great when you go to the wedding. I am interested in helping if you have any further questions.

Stay Well

I think you can lose 12-15 pounds in 6 weeks. Each pound is approximately 1600 calories so to lose 2 pounds a week you need to reduce 3200 calories in a week. So you need a plan that will cut about 450 calories a day. The most effective way is to change what you eat but exercise can help as well. I would plan on a little exercise everyday to burn 100-150 calories, and changing your diet to cut 300-350 calories.
You can do it.
