My baby chinchilla is sick! Please help!

My baby boy is about 10 wks old. He is in a cage with a female about 12wks old.  He's acting sluggish and his eyes are watery.  He's barely eating and it seems as though he's having trouble walking/hopping.  He just sits in my hand and doesn't move which is very unusual behavior. A few days ago the air went out and it was about 80 in the house but they were jumping around and fine.  I was worried they may stroke so I got a window AC unit to hold me over and in an hour it was down to 65.  It wasn't until today that he's been acting odd and that happened 2 days ago. His poo was a little sticky also so he may have a little diarrhea.  I feed him Mazuri pellets and alfalfa hay and bottled water, thats all.  I've heard the little female and him fighting a bit so I don't know if she's hurt him or what I can do.  I really don't want to spend all the money taking him to the emergency vet if I don't have to.  I just want him better. Any suggestions that may help????

the chinchilla might have pneumonia, that is a serious condition that a vet should check out,the symptoms are runny eyes, runny nose, loss of appetite, and stopped grooming, give the chinchilla plenty of fluids and take him to the vet.

I'm sorry I don't know much about chinchillas except they're beautiful and have very dense fur. All I can suggest is taking him to a vet. The sudden temperature change from warm to fairly cool at 65 degrees may have done something. Or it may be a coincidence. But lethargy, weepy eyes and diarrhea require a vet. Call around and check prices for an exam.
