Is this symptom of retinal detachment at 18 years old?

Hello, I am 18 years old and since the start of this year, I have been seeing a spontaneous flash of white light moving in an arc in the peripheral vision of my left eye. Could this be a serious problem such as retinal detachment? If it helps in answering the question, I have terrible nearsightedness in both eyes (one eye is about 4.75 while the other is 4.50)

First of all you have moderate myopia not "terrible".  High myopia starts greater than 6 diopters. At your age the risk of. RD is small less than one in 10,000.   You do need to see an eye MD ophthalmologist and tell her/him about this symptom and need a dilated eye exam. If this is normal you may be away of blue arc entopic phenomena. Read about that on Wikipedia.
