11 years living with myopia and still not stable

This is my 11th year dealing with myopia and im now 23 years old..should my myopia degrees get stable by now? My dr said i cant have laser or lasik eye surgery if my degrees still in progress. When do ususally myopia degrees start to be stable?thx

That is not all that myopic especially over 11 years. Most MDs use -5 or -6 for high myopia. Frankly I would get another opinion from an Eye MD ophthalmologist that does refractive surgery.  You likely could have surface lasik (PRK) right now and if you have any significant changes down the road enhancement could be done.

If your "eye doctor" is an optometrist I have seen them refuse to refer because they would rather keep selling people glasses and are worried about losing the patient to the better trained Eye MD.

Use the search feature and archives and read about "progressive high myopia".  What is your present glasses RX?
