16 Year Old - Extreme Eye/Head Pain

My 16 year old son has been experiencing extreme eye/head pain since April 2008.  Between then an now he has seen, an Ophthalmologist, Pediatric- Ophthalmologist, Neurologist, Neuro-Ophthalmologist (2 different). Along with that he has seen biofeedback, Psychologists, and pain management doctors.  Nobody seems to have any idea of what is wrong.  We had surgery to repain an old sinus fracture with an entrapped muscle which did nothing.  Any ideas of where to go or what type of specialist to see about this issue?   My son is in so much pain that his life is on hold.  The only thing that helps (very little) is large (15mg) doses of Percocet.

This pain is not in his mind.  He has seen a number of psychologists to help him deal with the pain and the depression it is causing him.  There is something physically wrong.

Dear RipH,

I would also recommend that your son seek the care of a psychiatrist specializing in adolescents.  It sounds as if there might be a reason that is elusive.
