8 y.o. Diagnosed w Third Cranial Nerve Palsy

Our daughter was diagnosed today with third cranial nerve palsy.  She has been in good health, however, a while back our son hit her accidently below the eye with an ice chunk.  I asked the eye dr if this caused it and he said no.  We are now being referred to a pediatric opthamologist because he felt incapable of addressing it.  What is the likely course of treatment?  What should we expect?

I understand now that the appt. we are to have Friday was marked as urgent.  The doctor that examined her and made the referral did not share this with me and now I am very fearful.  Much of what I have read about this condition does not indicate a great sent of urgency and often after testing some wait six months before surgery or to see if surgery is even necessary.

The treatment depends on the cause. Please see the pediatric ophthalmologist.
