That's a low prescription assuming he was checked by a competent doctor with dilation before being refracted. Kids tend to overaccomodate and his real prescription may be greater if he was checked the same way as an adult. A sign of this may be that he gets headaches. If he hasn't, have him see a pediatric ophthalmologist who can perform a cycloplegic refraction and confirm the full strenght of his prescription. If the above numbers are correct, he may be able to get by without glasses as long as he doesn't sit too far from the board. Should not be affecting his grades.

Yes, he was dilated before he was refracted. He had a headache whole saturday and he vomited thrice, so we brought him the following day to the Opthalmologist. Since we knew of his eye conditions, we prevented him from using our computer and tv.
Thank you doctor for you response, I am deeply grateful and I am relieved that my son's eye condition is not as grave as i perceived it was.
Dear Dr
Yesterday i went to an eye dr in abu dhabi bcs my baby girl 3 yrs was blinking for some days so she had allergy and while doing the eye test exam i felt sad bcs an astigmatism appears on her eyes. 1.75 and 1.25. the dr told me that she may need glasses but on her 4 or 5th yr and another dr told me that this is slight and she may not need glasses at all but only while reading or watching tv. Am really feeling upset bcs i dont like a baby to wear glasses and like to make his movements fixed and not feeling free. plz i would like to know ur advice
