Bruising on eyes?

I have blue/greyish bruise type things on the very corner of each of my eyes (nose side corner of my eyes ).
The darkish patches (or faint shadows) are about a centermeter in length and about 3mm in width, my eyes always seem to be slightly bloodshot and they always seem tired as well.
I seem to be finding myself looking down and shuting my eyes hard as it seems to ease some kind of strain.... maybe i need new glasses?
Does this sound like something serious?

A centimeter is 10 mm and is the size of the cornea.  I am not sure what you are trying to describe.

Sorry, i've drawn a picture to help... the discoloration isnt as dark as in the diagram but it is to show the size and location.
