Can concussion cause eye condition

My daughter is 6 and is special needs, she took a tumble at school resulting in a concussion, she was diagnosis shortly there after with Amblyopia, could her fall cause this condition or is it just one of those things that happens ?

If she injured her occipital lobe (the back of her head/brain) which is associated with vision, chances are the head injury and the vision loss are associated. try out this link:

Dear knothome,

Amblyopia is a disease in which vision is impaired, the retina appears normal and the vision is not corrected by glasses or contact lenses.  I would recommend an examination by an eyeMD or if you think may be related to the concussion, I would recommend a neuro-ophthalmologist.
