Cataracts/Vision Loss

Do cataracts grow independently of one another in each eye? If one eye is good and if the other is bad, will using the good eye over time get worse since there's more strain on it?

Also how do you distinguish between other eye conditions such as vision loss from glaucoma and temporal arteritis without an evaluation? It seems hard to tell if your vision is getting worse from cataracts alone or something else when you have cataracts.

Yes cataracts grow independently. You distinguish by going ideally to an Eye MD ophthalmologist, or non-MD optometrist.
