Chalazion Surgery Question

hi i am going to get a consultation have the op. doc. take a look at my left upper eyelid
this coming friday. i am VERY frighten of the idea about removing chalazion through surgery.
i've been reading a lot of other members and their experience with having probs. even after
the surgery?!? to think we have this cyst on our eye, then to get it removed we have to have
probs. again?? and even chances of having another one?? I dont understand!  I was wondering,
has anyone gotten the surgery while asleep and is that even offered to patients??? Advice?

can this be done while patient is asleep though?? I don't think I want to be awake for it if I do end up doing surgery.

Chalazion surgery when done correctly is a low risk surgery.  First, determine why you are getting them.  Usually there is an underlying chronic disease, most likely, blepharitis.
