Remedies for eye redness/glassinessday after drinking alcohol

Is a ice cube wrapped in a washcloth the best way to dilute the capillaries caused by alcohol consumption? I am told prolonged use of artificial tears, such as Rohto Ice, is nocuous.
Alternatively is there any product available akin to a small bottle of essential oils that can reduce the capillaries, just as slicing onions causes tears?

I noticed that I get red and dry eyes (I wear contacts) after a glass of wine. So in this case  the only thing which helps me is humidity. - hot tea steam is enogh to reduce reddness by approx. 60%

rward89 has it right. The best way is not to drink alcohol or to drink in moderation. The world has been searching for the perfect cure for a hang-over since the first caveman drank fermented fruit.

Ice cubes may help your headache but will not do much for the red eyes. Artificial tears will make them feel better but not get rid of redness.

The only essential oils that I know are helpful are the ones I put in my automobile crankcase.

I would say that the best thing to assure you didn't get red eyes from drinking is to not drink too much.
