Constant Floater

I have always experienced floaters due to my short sightedness. But since sunday, so for 5 days now I have had a constant thread like floater. It moves as my eye moves but seems like the end of it is still attached to the back of my eye as it doesn't pass across my whole field of vision and I can only see one end of the floater. My vision is fine apart from this and I have not experience any flashing light etc. Will this eventually go away? Can somebody please help.

You need to see an ophthalmologist.  New floater can also be associated with a retinal tear which can lead to retinal detachment and blindness if not treated.
