Contact aports and eyesight- what kind of risks am i running

Hello, I am 18 and I have been doing contact sports for an year now (kickboxing, karate and MMA). I have recently heard from a relative who once worked in the eye care industry that I am not allowed to do such a sport (or anything that requires you to receive blows to the head) because i have a -4 dioptry. Is that true? I do this sport on a semi-competitional level, where i have a contest once or twice a year,

Any one participating in those sports has significant risk of eye injury, they are dangerous, risk prone sports. Moreover I believe the rules forbid eye protection. You being -4 diopter myopic are at higher risk if hit on the eye of detached retina, vitreous hemorrhage, retinal detachment and hyphema.   Why not do something that is not so dangerous like swimming or running?
