First - I just gotta ask. How was it not your decision? If you don't want another multifocal why don't you just make your decision easy and just leave the second eye with an aspheric monofocal lens like Acrysof IQ, or Tecnis or Sofport AO and leave the lens for distance as much as possible while also trying to keep astigmatism to a minimum with limbal relaxing incisions as needed. Option number 2 is to put in a Crystalens HD going for distance mainly and if it hits the intended target you might gain good distance vision with a little intermediate vision to complement the first eye. Again, that is as long as the intended target refraction is reached and everything goes well.

I have a Restor, not a ReZoom, but similar problem -- big nighttime flare and circles (not neat little halos by a long shot). Daytime vision is great - near, intermediate and far (well, 20/40 for the far, but that's okay).
Would get the same IOL for the second eye except for the night driving, so, like you am considering a single vision lens for the second eye. Would much appreciate it if you would let me know what you decide and the eventual outcome, i.e. how the multifocal works with your second choice. I'm still trying to decide. Thanks and good luck.

Found a new surgeon. He's checking with other surgeons he knows to find out what will go best with the ReZoom (I will send him your replies). He's being very cautious, to make the right decision. He normally doesn't do the multi-focal lenses. I also feel that a single vision lens would be best.
Thank You VERY much for your insight. JP
Make sure you find another surgeon and strongly consider a monofocal lens unless you come across someone who is very skilled and reputable with the crystalens HD in which case it could still be an option at least.

The doctor's office had done a job on me pushing the Crystalens. Brochueres, Posters, sales talks..... All the paperwork I signed had said Crystalens. I did research online, (not enuff), and decided the Crystalens was the best and safe
4 Months after the surgery, when complaining about halos and such and after I mentioned that I had talked to a doctor at B&L Crystalens, he asked "Why are you contacting Crystalens?? You have a ReZoom" He says he made the decision to put in the ReZoom during the surgery because my pupil in that eye was too small. He also said (and remember this is after he and his office did a bang-up sales job on me and charged me $1500 xtra) "All multi-focal lenses have more problems". I had been on the fence and if I had known that I would have gone with the single vision lens and avoided all my night vision problems.
