Cornea condition & general issue

I Happened to visit an general eye checkup and was asked to undergo a pentacam test for "keratoconus". I was told that i have keratoconus on both the eyes. The right eye condition is severe when compared to the left eye.

Since i am 40 years. I was told that there is nothing to worry as keratoconus condition does not worsen after a certain age.

The doctor told me that after 6 months/1 year we can test again and then decide what to do.

I have 2 Questions - how can i be sure how severe is my condition. does this cause blindness or can this be corrected using laser surgery?

Also, I have also been told to wear glasses and this is my prescription. can anyone tell me how bad is my condition. I have never worn glasses before

Near: Spl: 1.0

OS:
Distance: Sph +00.00 ; Cyl: -1.00; Axis: 115
Near: Spl: 1.0

Now, i don't understand these terminologies. Can someone explain this to me?

Thanks for your time

1. Be sure the 'eye doctor" is an Eye MD ophthalmologist ideally specializing in cornea.
2. If you have questions about his/her reports make a list and call their office

Hi John,

Thanks for the respone.

The doctor told me that - K-conus usually does not progress after 35. Hence i dont have to worry. I was subjected to a series of tests and was asked to visit him again after 6 months so that he can determine if my condition has worsened.

I have the reports with me. However i dont know how to interpret the results.

That glasses RX corrects for a small amount of myopia and a small to medium amount as astigmatism in your eye. It says nothing about what your vision is with or without the glasses; it says nothing about the health of your eye. The glasses RX is not typical of K-conus.  Would suggest you see an eye MD ophthalmologist that specializes in corneal disease to determine if you have K-conus.
