Cortica blindness

My 9 month old daughter has cortial blindness. I have heard that we can do alot of early intervention and stimuation to help her. I am not happy with the visual therapist that she has and I was just wondering if you have any ideas of way to stimulate her eyes? Thank you!

She is already being seen by an Opthomologist and a neurologist. Her eyes themselves are perfect. They said that she can see with her eyes but not with her brain. They are the ones who referred her to the 'school for visual impairments' to get some visual stimulation. My problem is that I dont feel like the therapist is giving us any useful information and there are no other therapists for this district.

Dear annieluvsjulie,

I would recommend that you seek the care of an eyeMD specializing in neuro-ophthalmology.
I am not sure the vision therapy will help.

In cortcal blindess the eyes are usually normal and the problem is in the part of the brain that processes sight.

See a pediatric neuroophthalmologist to see if anything can be done.

Prognosis is guarded most times
