I had a Crystalens implanted on left eye
on 27/2/12 I do not have distance vision very clear in that eye from day 1 of the surgery. My IOL card saya size is 19.50 diopter optic diameter5.0mm overall diameter11.5mm A constant119.0 surgeon factor 1.79. before surgery my distance vision is v.good 18/20.kindly help me and give your suggestion
Sorry Patricia, get another opinion. My vision is similar to yours after my Crystalens. Maybe it is not faulty, just par for the course.
I know what you mean. I have a minus 3.5 contact that does almost nothing. I had the same thing happen from day one with my (D) right eye. I can only see at 6 inches, nothing before or after. My iris and pupil were also messed up by the surgeon. That surgeon which I no longer trust, said to YAG and Lasik. I saw two other surgeons and they say that YAG would be the worst thing to do. I am going to have the Crystalens repositioned on 10-7. If they can't get it to reposition then they will cut the haptics and remove , replacing with either a Restor3 or Tecnis. I can see ok with the left 4 feet and beyond except for black shadow on left side. My Uncle age 80 had the same lenses put in and has good vision.
Think the surgeon has alot to do with it. I beleive it happens often with newby surgeons, at least I feel like a guiny (sp) I was told after surgery that the surgeon has had alot of them do this???? Failure to disclose! That is what really gets me!
Sorry I don't have any good answer..
Find a Crystalens doctor in your area who is a "Center of Excellence." Find one on the Crystalens website.
Dr. O
I had a Crystalens HD, which shifted/locked in the myopic position. This occurred about 3 months after surgery. My Dr. suspected that a tightening of the capsule might have caused this. My Dr. replaced the CL HD with the latest Restor lens and it is working out very well.
It seems that your CL may have locked in the intermediate vision range (2 to 6 feet).
