hole in Retina causing blindness in one eye and the other too has a hole.

my mum is 65 she has a retina hole.  One eye is already lost as the optometrix said.  She was refered to an ophalmologiest but he is travelling away and postponding appointment.   I am planning to take her to emergecy to see if they could do something.  Anyone know if she will be able to see again with the other eye.

Thank you for encouragement.  We went to emergency.  They referred her to an opthomologist.  He checked it and done some pictures so we are waiting for him.  I thought of retina specialist but I am in Canada we do not know how to go about it.  You have given me some hope.  He also mentioned about cataract.

You probably won't get the level of care in the Emergency. How many ophthalmologists are in your area or are you limited to who you can see because of the National Medical System? If you were in the US I would set you up to see another ophthalmologist, especially a retina specialist. The hole can usually be fixed in either eye. There is hope, but she needs an ophthalmologist who is a retina specialist.
Best wishes,
