Cystoid macular edema

I have had CME for about 1 year now,  after the constant use of drops (nevanac) 3X per day, it has helped to a certain degree.  The edema is being a stubborn and now it is time for the subtenon injection.   What injections are commonly in use for this type of problem and how effective is it.  In addition, I understand an increase in IOP is a major concern, what glaucoma drops are most effective in controlling this pressure spike?  Thank you

You have been using an NSAID (I prefer Xibrom over Nevanac) but not a steroid.  You should consider adding a steroid like Durezol before an injection.  If you get an elevated IOP then you should not get a subtenons steroid injection which can last for months--sometimes 6 months.  Another consideration is an intravitreal injection of Avastin.

Prior to the nevanac I was on acular and that changed the my refraction as it altered my cornea.  Had PRK to correct this and the acuity is good, other than the distortion and light sensitivity from the edema.  My OS foveal thickness is 270 and my OD is around 382.  Is the xibrom and durezol harsh on the surface of the cornea like the acular???
