You should have a dilated exam by an ophthalmologist.

Hi Reuel19,
Reading your question really reminds me of myself. If you look back about a week or so, you'll see where I've posted numerous posts regarding my floaters because mine seemed to show up out of no where, and I am a heavy computer user as that is my current job. I am 20 as well and very recently had a series of eye exams and dilations because of obsessing over my new found floaters and eye issues. I'm not sure how bad yours is, but I have a few in each eye and am barely nearsighted (less than -2 in both eyes). Mine came during a period of long work hrs, sinus infection, eye pain, achiness, and dry eyes are now my result along with it. My exams revealed a healthy eye but I obsessed over something being wrong and the floaters not ever going away. I'm not sure if seeing the huge size floaters you describe are normal, but I would suggest phoning your optometrist/ophthalmologist and express those concerns especially if this is something new since your visit. I for one, was not happy with just one consultation, so I sought a very informed 2nd opinion which confirmed the 1st opinion, so I find myself now not worrying so much over them. But I also have friends who have experienced them for years and it's like they don't exist anymore to them because they've gotten used to them. I hope that yours gets better soon and that it is not something worse. Stay strong!

Just reading your comments ...get your optician to refer you to an ophthalmologist at your local hospital ..and ask them to check you for uveitis ..or pars planitis ..., I had this condition diagnosed when I was 23 ...I had it for years before ..but nearly lost my sight ..!
It wasn't and still isn't a common condition and most of these ophthalmologists have only ever seen my condition in text books or in pictures ..I had students coming in every two mins when I used to go to hospital for treatment ...and the treatment is grueling ..but it's better than loosing hour sight ...
I ended up with ok sight in my left eye ..but have been left with only 4/5 vision in my right due to not enough knowledge on my condition ..my consultant really tried his best and I thank him for saving my sight in my left ..as I could have been blind now if nit picked up...
