Do red eye veins ever go away?

I have a six-month-old baby.  I was at my wits end one night and decided to try letting her "cry it out" in the hope of reducing the number of nighttime feedings.  I let her cry for 40 minutes before giving up and picking her up.  The next morning I noticed a prominent red vein in her eye that I assume appeared due to her excessive crying.  The vein is horizontal and somewhat curvy in her right eye.  Her eyes used to be clear and now I feel very guilty every time I look her in the eyes and see that vein.  Is there any chance of it going away?  Based on what I have read it doesn't appear that there are any treatments for this.  I realize that this is merely a cosmetic concern, but I still wish there were something I could do about it.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

The vein appeared when she was 3 months old.  She's 7 months now, so the vein has been there unchanged for 4 months.  Based on that, should I see an eyeMD?  I assume that if it were going to resolve itself it would have done so by now?

Thanks,

Dear Jello223,

If there is a hemorrhage or redness from excessive crying, this should resolve over time.  IF it persists, seek the care of an eyeMD to determine the cause.
