Drusen

I am 41 and am diagnosed with moderate Drusen in each eye.  An optomatrist diagnosed me with full Dry Macular Degeneration, while an opthomologist diagnosed me with drusen and said not to worry because I have it around the whole macular as well as in the macular cell.  Is this true?  And why does it mean that my chances of going blind are reduced because of this?

Thank you for your suggestions.   How do I locate a retinal specialist?  There is no history in my family of this; they do not know why I developed this so young.  I am taking I-Cap vitamins and Omega three.
Thank you again.

I would recommend seeing a retinal specialist for the exact diagnosis.  Do you have family history of macular degeneration?

You should consider vitamin supplements if these are drusen.  Google the ARED study.
