Dry eye combined w/ Fuchs and cataract

Just diagnosed w/ all three. Doc sez to use Restasis and artificial tears w/ no preservatives. Everything I read about Fuchs sez to dry it out, even w/ a hair dryer. Doc sez eye is damaged by current dryness and he cannot do the cataract 'til tears function better in a month or so. Will the Restasis increase the moisture and worsen the Fuchs? What is the failure rate on cataract w/IOL combined w/ dry eye combined w/ Fuchs? He is concerned w/ this combo.
I am seeing glares at nite and eyes are also astigmatic. I am 62.

Hello. I know this first post was from many years ago, but I just had a patient with this same scenario and I prescribed Restasis to help with dryness in combination with NaCl drops to help with the edema. It worked well. I am an optometrist by the way. There are many optometrists who can manage Dry Eye and Fuchs

Do what your Eye DM says (be sure its not a optometrist). Restasis will not make the Fuchs worse.
