Durezol cause blurry distant vision

this is the third time i got a uveitis in my left eye (i am hlab27+), earlier two times i was back home in my country (india) and doctor prescribed pred-forte+homatropine and it got cured in about a month.  this time i am US and went to the doctor near to my place and she also gave the same stuff homatropine+predforte, i was carrying these two with me, but due to some insurance complication that in-network, out-network stuff had to consult another ophthalmologist.  he asked me to continue homatropine but prescribed a new stronger medicine named durezol.  now eye is almost complete cured no red spots and stopped homatropine 2 weeks back, but eye is still blur..i am able to see near objects clearly but anything which is more than 10 feets become blur.  doctor did  the pinhole examination and said it is 20/20 so eye is working fine.  is this blurred vision due to durezol and will it go when i stop it (at presnt taking two times a day for 1 week and then once a week for next week and may be stopping it after that.  i never faced this blurred distant vision with pred forte, i am really worried about this, not sure if this is change in lense power, or something else.  even doctor is not sure it seems.  i regret using this medicine i should have used pred forte only don't know why doctor said it is better than that....

Hi. I know this tread is really old, but I am going through the same exact symptoms as you were having. Did your vision ever clear up? I am really scared. My vision before was 20/20 and now is 20/40 and I can only see well through the little pin hole test. Hope to hear back from you

the longer you have uveitis and the more often it occurs and being HLA-B27+ means it usually gets more difficult to treat each episode. Yes if the pupil is still dilated it can blur the vision.

thanks doctor for the reply, i used this medicine for the first time and i am just worried that even after stopping homatropine for more than 2 weeks why the blurred is not fully clear yet.  i was just expecting an answer from the doctor and when he said ' i don't know' i got quite worried.  i have taken an appointment for monday again with doctor and want to get an answer about what causing the distant vision blur is it that my lense power increased coz i have -2.75 power in left eye.  the left eye pupil is also still a little bigger than the right eye, can that cause distant vision blur ?? when will that come to normal size...

You are absolutely wrong. Durazol is one of the greatest advancements in antiinflammatory medications in the last 2 decades. I use it as my drug of choice for all anterior iritis and have scores of cases where the much weaker pred forte failed and durazol saved the eye.
