I think this is an interesting service if you ask me. For people who have to deal with color contacts on a daily basis, this is a great way to make life easier. I searched around on the net and I found the site that I think everyone is talking about: http://newcoloriris.com
Just to be clear - this procedure is NOT FDA APPROVED AND NOT PERFORMED IN THE US AND NOT RECOMMENDED BY ME.

You have to be kidding, right??? You can't tell me that you are seriously considering doing this procedure. I suspect that you may be working for the company that is touting this outrageous cosmetic iris color change surgery. If you are serious - don't do it - I can give you a hundred reasons why to avoid this procedure. Now if you have ocular albinism or aniridia - we can have a scientific discussion regarding the concept.

Lets keep in mind it has no need to file with the FDA as it is not poerformed in the U.S procedures in Europe have no need to file with the FDA also. As lasik was being done in Europe much longer then in the states because of the FDA. The procedure has not filed with the FDA but newcoloriris implants are made in the U.S and FDA approved. I plan to fly from New York next week to have it done my cousins eye color results where amazing and i just got my eye exams back and i am eligible for the procedure
Thank you for the link. I don't believe this is FDA approved in US - suspect it is only done in Panama but no sure. This type of implant - if ever approved in US - might be something to be used only for coloboma of iris or congenital aniridia (lack of iris). That's why you see the blond haired kids on the wev site - I believe. I try not to fly off the handle and keep an open mind and I will investigate this further _ BUT - if this product were ever used just to change the color of someone's eyes for cosmetic reasons only then that should be shunned and decried in the strongest terms - in my opinion. Like I said - I will look into it further - try to keep open mind. Could maybe someday be very useful for aniridia or coloboma if found safe and effective by FDA in US.

I have never heard of this and it sounds like a VERY BAD IDEA. I'm from Missouri, the SHOW-ME STATE and I have to see this to believe it. Send us a link or some way to find out about this - and do us and yourself a favor and never do any surgery like this. VERY BAD IDEA.
Send us a link or more info - please.
