Eye Fluid

Dr.

For many years, I have had stringy discharge in my eye. It builds up on the inside of my eye and when I remove it, it pulls across either the bottom or top of my eye, sometimes both or even straight across.  It does become painful and  my eyes become bloodshot.  It occurs mostly in my left eye.

I have talked to my eye doctor several times and he just blows it off.  I am concered, it blurs my vision and again it can be painful.  I was watching Dr. Oz one day and a lady asked him about the same situation.  He said it was not normal and she needed to get it taken care.  So now I am confused.

I try keeping the lid closed to produce fluid to try and flush it and that doesnt work, I have also tried visine without any sucess.  The only way I am able to remove it from my eye is to do it physically.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thank You!

Paula

Does sound similiar to Torik9. Don't reach into your eyes this causes problems. A mucolytic agent (breaks up mucous) could (maybe) help-Mucormyst ophthalmic-usually a pharmacy will need to compound it. Lot's of pres.-free tears (OTC) and good Omegas in the diet. Dont' reach into the eyes (Mucous Fishing Syndrome).
