I'm not an optician. A prescription of +.75 should not produce much in terms of a magnification effect. Your best bet would be to discuss your concerns with an experienced optician.
Hi, thanks for your response. The prescription would only be probably +0.75, which is small. Does the thickness of the lens have anything to do with the look of magnification? Should I try to get the thinnest aspheric lenses?
Probably not with high hyperopia. Discuss this with an optician.
Thanks for the responses. Is it possible to get glasses in which the appearance of magnification is eliminated altogether?
Yes, these lenses are common, but they may not be available at the one-hour and discount shops. There will be an additional charge for aspheric lenses, but I think that it will be well worth the money because of the cosmetic benefits. Discuss this with an optician.
Are these lenses common? The lenses I have are of the "sphere" type. Is this the same thing?
Try getting aspheric lenses to minimize this effect.
