Eye injury (black eye)

I was in a accident about a week in a half ago. I was hit from behind.  My face hit the stern wheel and I got a black eye. The swelling has gone down but my eye is still closed, slightly opens. Will this permanent, how long does it take for my eye to open completely back up? I did the cold and warm compression, How long does this process that. I have been wearing patches and shades.

The most potential thing serious about a 'black eye' is damage to the eye itself. You need to see an Eye MD ophthalmologist as soon as possible. Start work on getting in to see one immediately or a hospital emergency room that has ophthalmology coverage. Extremely important you might have major eye damage.
