Eye looks inwards towards nose

My 3 month old's right eye looks inwards towards her nose. This was going on since birth and started to get better after 1.5 months but once she hit 2.5 months old it went back to looking inwards. She just turned 3 months old on Sunday and now her left eye is starting to slowly do the same thing... she has a dr appointment tomorrow but I was curious on how serious this really is and what type of surgery is needed to correct this (the dr was talking about sending her to an eye dr and possibly surgery) im very nervous on all of this due to the fact my oldest never had this problem

The condition you describe is known as esotropia.  There are several types of esotropia, which depending on the specific characteristics of her esotropia, can be correctable with glasses or may require surgery.  An ophthalmologist specialized in pediatrics and strabismus can perform the appropriate tests to determine how to proceed so I would definitely have her evaluated as soon as possible.

Thank you.
She is being evaluated tomorrow first by her pediatrician who has been aware of this problem since she was born so we will go from there =)
