Eye pain and swelling

A few days ago my 5yr old son accidentally elbowed me in the eye. It hurt pretty bad and I thought I was going to get a black eye from it. It quit hurting after 30 minutes or so. Anyways, its been about 3 days, and this morning I woke up to like this throbbing pain. It hurts to blink, it hurts in the light, it is even starting to hurt when I move my eye. My vision still seems normal, and I haven't been seeing halos or floaters. My eye is starting to tear up constantly because of the pain.  It is also starting to swell where my cheek bone is and right under my eye. Please help me.

Dear Ashley_doyle,

I would recommend that you seek the care of an eyeMD. It sounds as if you have inflammation inside the eye as a result of the injury and require further

Since your eye is hurting more now and the symptoms are getting worse I would suggest you see an ophthalmologist or at the very least a very good optometrist. Your eyes are important and it will ease your mind to have a professional look at your eye.  I hope for the best for you.
