Eyelid Twitching

Hello,
My left upper eyelid has been twitching NONSTOP for 8 days. At first I thought the lights were flickering but that was not the case. Is this called myokymia? I have googled this and I don't think it's what I describe. Mine is constant. It only stops when I open my eyes all othe way. If I am looking down at something, my eyelid goes crazy. It's like a fluttering/quivering motion.
I know I can't be diagnosed on the web, but is this an emergency? Should I consult a neurologist??? I googled it and I read through some medical text books and it seems as though it could be a brain stem tumor or MS. I am about ready to cut my eyelid off. I am not kidding! Thanks everyone.

Dear HoneyBFly81,

This does sound like ocular myokymia; however, a diagnosis cannot be made over the internet. I would recommend that you seek the care of an eyeMD.
