I think that a traumatic PVD and what your ophthalmologist are talking about is one in the same.
I'm very confused, so it will continue to pull away from my retina until it detaches? Because I am only 24 wont it be attached to my retina much stronger? Am I at high risk for a retinal tear or detachment? How long have you seen traumatic pvd symptoms last?
Use the search feature and archives and read about PVD. The vitreous normally pulls away from the back of the eye as a normal aging change. 50% of people have it by age 50. Retinal detachment is quite rare occuring in about one in 7000-10 thousand people. I have seen traumatic PVDs causing flashing that lasts for years (tennis ball into eye).
I've done a lot of reading just want clarification doctor. That is very depressing to know that I can deal with this for years. I didn't even feel like I got hit that hard. That's the thing my eye isn't aging so it's just going to pull away from my retina because of trauma.
I have given you all the information I can in this internet format. And for the record everyone is aging from birth, you are aging, if you weren't you would never reach age 25. You need to speak with your surgeon.
