In that case, who should I see? A neuro-opthalmologist or a retinologist?
Thank you
Thank you Dr. McGarity,
My "flashes" located near my central vision, does that mean it is a positive scotoma? I can see them all day, whenever I blink.
Thanks
PVD would also be associated with floaters and the bright flashes tend to occur in the periphery of your vision. Positive Scotomas would be associated with ocular or cephalgic migraines and they tend to last several minutes (15-30 minutes) or less. They also need not be associated with a headache.
I hope this helps,

Basically, it happens not only when I blink, i tried to cover my right eye with my hand without closing my eyelid and then when i uncover my eye, I can see the bright spots "flashes" and fade away..
