Flashes in the eye?

I have been wearing glasses since I was a child (I'm 18 now) as I have myopia.

For quite a while I have been having flashes of light occur randomly every day. In January after becoming really worried after a net search and reading about retinal detachment/tears I quickly went to an emergency eye hospital where they looked at my eyes .

Whilst there they performed an eye pressure test and put some drops in my eye to dialate my eyes and then after some time the Doctor who was there looked at my eyes. He told me he could not see anything wrong with my eyes although I think he said something about pvd I cannot recall and he gave me a leaflet on flashes and floaters and I went on my way .

But I still am worried  and I am wondering why do I have these flashes everyday?
I get blur spots I believe they are called floaters but I do not get them everyday  like the flashes.
I am extremely anxious and scared of getting a detachment or tear and becoming blind
I have been reading on net search that I'm at risk because I have myopia

please can you advise me

Thanks

It seems that you have 2 problems.  First, you have daily flashing lights. Second, you have unnecessarily frightened yourself by reading on the web about conditions that may not apply to you.  Have an evaluation by a retina specialist.  You can find one at www.aao.org.

* I should also add that the eye doctor told me to return if I see flashes that are like fireworks and are like that for 20 mins or more . My flashes are throughout the day not many but they do occur.
